CompareTradeZella alternative for prop firm traders
TradeZella is one of the most complete trading journals on the market. This page is for the trader who likes it but keeps asking the same question: does it actually know my firm's rules? Here is where TradeZella is strong, where it falls short for funded accounts, and what Proof does differently.

What TradeZella does well
TradeZella has earned its position. Its site reports 100,000+ traders and more than 20 billion trades journaled, and the product shows that scale. The things it does best, checked on its own pages in October 2026:
Broker auto-sync. TradeZella lists 500+ broker and prop firm integrations that sync trades automatically. Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Webull, MetaTrader 4 and 5 are all named. If you never want to touch a CSV again, this matters.
Backtesting and replay. Manual backtesting with tick-level data, bar-by-bar replay, multi-strategy comparison and a playbook library. Pro and Ultra plans add automated AI backtests (10 and 100 a month) and unlimited trade replays.
Zella AI. An AI partner that journals, auto-tags setups and reviews sessions, with 500, 1,500 or 3,000 credits a month depending on plan. Agents watch habits, risk, sentiment and custom rules.
Community and education. Spaces (private rooms for groups and mentors), leaderboards, challenges, 10,000+ community members and Zella University courses. No other journal on this list has a community of that size built in.
Prop Firm Sync. A dashboard that tracks profit targets, daily drawdown and consistency rules across firms, with pass-rate forecasting. FTMO, Apex and Topstep are named, plus 12 more.
Where it falls short for funded traders
None of this is a knock on TradeZella. It is a general trading journal that added a prop-firm layer. For a trader whose whole income depends on not breaching, the gaps show up in specific places.
Drawdown types. TradeZella's Prop Firm Sync describes daily drawdown and consistency tracking. We could not find a description of trailing drawdown variants (high-water, equity-based, end-of-day, locking) on its pages. Those variants are the difference between a safe trade and a breach at firms like Apex, Topstep and FXIFY.
News windows. Many firms restrict trading 2 to 5 minutes, or longer, around high-impact news, and the restricted list differs by firm. We found no news calendar or per-firm block window on TradeZella's feature or pricing pages.
Payout timing. Pass-rate forecasting answers whether you will pass. It does not answer the question a funded trader asks every Monday: when is my next payout eligible, given this firm's schedule, minimum profit days and buffer rules.
Rule cost. TradeZella's tilt detection and habit agents are useful, but we found no feature that puts a dollar figure on each broken rule across time.
Price per account. The Essential plan ($35 a month, or $26 a month billed yearly) covers one trading account. Most funded traders run several. Pro ($59 a month, or $44 a month billed yearly) is where multi-account tracking begins. Prices were read from the pricing page in October 2026 and change.
Platform. TradeZella's own comparison pages state it is web-only. There is no mobile app mentioned on its site.
How Proof is different
Proof was built from the prop-firm rulebook outward, not from a general journal inward. The specific differences:
Every rule, per account. Daily loss (balance, equity or end-of-day based), max loss and trailing drawdown (high-water, equity, end-of-day, locking), open-risk caps, consistency rules, minimum profit days and payout schedules. Presets for FXIFY, FundingPips, FundedNext, Goat Funded, FTMO, The5ers, Topstep and Apex, plus custom. See the prop firm rules hub for what each firm actually enforces.
Risk Guard. Live room left today and room to the max-loss floor, per account, plus a position sizer for every market so the next trade is sized to the floor, not to a guess.
News windows per firm. One calendar from several top sources combined plus the firm's own list, filtered to the markets you trade, with block windows that match each firm's rule. Earnings for stocks and options. Energy reports for oil and gas.
Target. Projects when each account can pay out and when you reach your goal, using that firm's schedule and rules. Try the free payout date calculator for a single account.
Rule Cost and Proof Scale. What each broken rule has cost you in dollars, and on every trade: could-have-lost, actual, left on table, heat and run.
Vera. An AI coach that answers from your own journal, your rules and live market data, with a market read per pair. 500 credits a month are included in every plan, including the cheapest one.
Routine. A daily checklist with streaks, mindset check-ins, missed setups scored against real candles, a weekly recap and a PDF report card.
Price. $49 a month, $399 a year or $499 lifetime at special pricing (regular pricing later is $59, $499 and $999). One plan, all accounts, all features. 7-day refund.
Who should stay with TradeZella
If two or more of those are you, TradeZella is probably the right tool. Proof is for the trader whose main risk is a rule, not a setup.
- You trade one funded account and a large personal account at a broker TradeZella auto-syncs, and you do not want to import files.
- Backtesting and replay are a daily part of your process. TradeZella's tick-level backtesting and 1-second charts are more developed than anything Proof offers.
- You run or belong to a trading group that lives in Spaces, or you use Mentor Mode to coach others.
- You trade only stocks or crypto at a non-prop broker and firm rules are not your problem.
- You already have years of history in TradeZella and the reports you rely on are tuned to it.
Switching from TradeZella to Proof
TradeZella can export selected trades to CSV from the trade log: open the All tab under Trades, select trades, open Bulk Actions and choose Export Trades to CSV, then pick Active or All columns. The help article notes this covers the trades you select and that the CSV cannot be re-uploaded to TradeZella, so keep your account until you are sure.
In Proof, import that CSV (or a fresh export straight from MT4 or MT5), assign each account to its firm preset, and Proof rebuilds your daily loss, drawdown floors and consistency position from the trade history. Notes and screenshots do not transfer; the trades and the numbers do.
A quick way to see what the switch is worth before you move anything: run a CSV through the free Proof Score. It shows your biggest leak and what your rule breaks have cost, with no account needed.

Is TradeZella good for prop firm traders?
It is a strong general journal with a Prop Firm Sync dashboard that tracks profit targets, daily drawdown and consistency across firms (FTMO, Apex and Topstep are named, plus 12 more). It does not describe trailing drawdown variants, per-firm news windows or payout date projection on its site, which are the features funded traders tend to miss most.
How much does TradeZella cost in 2026?
As of October 2026, Essential is $35 a month ($26 a month billed yearly), Pro is $59 a month ($44 a month billed yearly) and Ultra is $99 a month ($74 a month billed yearly). Essential covers one trading account. Prices change, so check the pricing page.
Does TradeZella have a free trial?
We did not find a free trial on the pricing page in October 2026. Proof offers a 7-day refund on every plan instead of a trial.
Can I export my trades from TradeZella?
Yes. Select trades on the All tab under Trades, open Bulk Actions and choose Export Trades to CSV. TradeZella's help article says the export covers selected trades only and that there is no full-account backup export.
What does Proof have that TradeZella does not?
Being re-checked against TradeZella's own pages. TradeZella includes Zella AI (a coach that also covers market sentiment) and its own routine and discipline tracking, so those are not differences.
Does Proof auto-sync with my broker like TradeZella?
No. Proof imports CSV files from MT4, MT5 and other platforms, and supports manual logging. If hands-free sync is a must, TradeZella's 500+ integrations are a real advantage.
