CompareEdgewonk alternative for prop firm traders
Edgewonk is the journal that took trading psychology seriously before it was fashionable. It is a one-price, all-features product with a loyal base of forex and futures traders. This page is for the Edgewonk user who now trades funded accounts and wants the rulebook tracked as carefully as the mindset.

What Edgewonk does well
Checked on Edgewonk's pricing and features pages in October 2026:
Discipline and psychology. The Tiltmeter measures how often you break your rules. There is a mental journal for patterns in behavior and mindset, instant feedback when a rule is broken, and discipline tracking on every trade. Few journals treat this as the core product; Edgewonk does.
Checklists and routine. Individual checklists per setup, routine tracking, and session report cards. Edgewonk was doing structured pre-trade checklists before most journals added a routine tab.
Edge Finder. An automated scan of your journal every Sunday for strengths, weaknesses and mistakes, plus weekly and monthly reports.
Trade management optimizer. Tells you whether your stops and targets are placed well, using MFE and MAE and a performance simulator.
Missed trades tracking. Logging the trades you did not take is a feature here, not an afterthought.
One price, everything. A single plan at $197 for 12 months (a $169 figure with a limited-time offer was also shown in October 2026). Unlimited journals and accounts, including prop firm accounts, unlimited imports and strategies, 14-day money-back guarantee. No tiers to decode. Prices change.
Broad market list. Forex, stocks, futures, crypto, indices, commodities and options.
Where it falls short for funded traders
Prop firm accounts, but not prop firm rules. Edgewonk's pricing page says you can create unlimited prop firm accounts. We found no description of firm presets, daily loss types, trailing drawdown variants, consistency rules or payout schedules on its pricing or features pages. The journal holds the account; the arithmetic of staying funded is still yours.
No news calendar. Nothing on either page about economic events or per-firm block windows.
No AI. Edgewonk's site does not mention AI. The Edge Finder is a scheduled scan, not a coach you can ask questions of.
Import, not sync. The features page says hundreds of brokers are supported for import. Auto-sync is not stated. (Proof is in the same position here, so this is a wash between the two, but it matters if you are also considering TradeZella, TraderSync or TradesViz.)
No mobile app mentioned. We did not find iOS, Android or Windows apps on Edgewonk's site.
Annual only. There is no monthly plan. $197 up front is reasonable value, but it is a year's commitment with a 14-day window to change your mind.
Rule cost in dollars. The Tiltmeter counts rule breaks. We found no feature that totals what each break cost in money.
How Proof is different
Proof shares Edgewonk's belief that process is the product. It adds the layer Edgewonk leaves out: the firm.
Per-account rule tracking. Daily loss (balance, equity or end-of-day based), max loss and trailing drawdown (high-water, equity, end-of-day, locking), open-risk caps, consistency rules, minimum profit days and payout schedules. Presets for FXIFY, FundingPips, FundedNext, Goat Funded, FTMO, The5ers, Topstep and Apex, plus custom. The rules hub lists what each firm enforces.
Risk Guard. Live room left today and to the max-loss floor, per account, with a position sizer for every market. Try the free drawdown calculator for one account.
Target and Challenge HQ. A projected payout date per account, and one screen with every account's floors, targets and eligibility.
News windows per firm. One calendar from several top sources combined plus the firm's list, filtered to your markets, with block windows per firm.
Vera. An AI coach that answers from your journal, your rules and live market data, with a market read per pair. 500 credits a month on every plan.
Rule Cost. The dollar figure behind each broken rule, and Proof Scale on every trade: could-have-lost, actual, left on table, heat and run. This is the Tiltmeter idea taken one step further, into money.
Routine, Mindset, Missed Setups. Daily checklist with streaks, mindset check-ins, and missed setups scored against real candles. Edgewonk users will find this familiar.
Platforms and price. Web, Android and Windows apps. $49 a month, $399 a year or $499 lifetime at special pricing; regular pricing later is $59, $499 and $999. 7-day refund.
Who should stay with Edgewonk
Edgewonk is a thoughtful product built by people who understand why traders fail. It just does not know what your firm's trailing floor is this morning.
- Your trading problem is mindset, not rules. The Tiltmeter, mental journal and psychology lab are deeper than Proof's mindset check-ins.
- You trade a personal account and prop firm rules are not your constraint.
- You want a single annual payment and nothing else to think about. $197 a year is less than Proof's annual price.
- You rely on the trade management optimizer and performance simulator to tune stops and targets.
- Your journal is years deep in Edgewonk and the Sunday Edge Finder report is part of your week.
Switching from Edgewonk to Proof
Edgewonk added an Excel export in February 2024: open the Journal tab and click the download button to save trades as an Excel file. Edgewonk's own post says only a few journal columns are included in that first version. We could not verify a CSV export on Edgewonk's site; a third-party import guide refers to both Excel and CSV, so check what your download produces.
If the export is thin, the cleaner route is to export directly from your platform. Proof imports CSV from MT4, MT5 and other platforms, and that file carries every fill, not a summary.
Import into Proof, attach each account to its firm preset, and Proof rebuilds daily loss, drawdown floors and consistency from the history. Then run the same file through the free Proof Score to see your biggest leak and what rule breaks have cost.

Upload a CSV of your trades, from your platform or from Edgewonk's export, and get your score, your biggest leak and what your rule breaks have cost. No account needed.

Does Edgewonk track prop firm rules?
Edgewonk supports unlimited prop firm accounts, but as of October 2026 its pricing and features pages do not describe firm presets, daily loss types, trailing drawdown variants, consistency rules or payout schedules.
How much does Edgewonk cost?
One plan: $197 for 12 months, billed annually, with a 14-day money-back guarantee. A $169 limited-time figure was also shown in October 2026. There is no monthly plan. Prices change.
Does Edgewonk have AI?
Edgewonk's site does not mention AI. Its Edge Finder is an automated weekly scan. Proof includes Vera, an AI coach, with 500 credits a month on every plan.
Can I export my trades from Edgewonk?
Edgewonk added an Excel export from the Journal tab in February 2024, with a limited set of columns. We could not verify a CSV export on Edgewonk's site. Exporting straight from your platform is the more complete route.
Is Edgewonk or Proof better for discipline?
Edgewonk goes deeper on psychology: Tiltmeter, mental journal, psychology lab. Proof puts a dollar figure on each broken rule (Rule Cost) and tracks the firm's rules alongside your own. Which matters more depends on whether your account is at risk from your head or from a rulebook.
Does either one sync with brokers?
Neither states auto-sync. Edgewonk lists import from hundreds of brokers; Proof imports CSV from MT4, MT5 and others.
