Prop firm rulesApex Trader Funding Rules Explained (2026)
Apex sells two kinds of evaluation that share the same numbers and behave very differently. Here is each rule with the figures on a 50K account, through to the Performance Account payout rules. Checked against Apex's help center in October 2026; confirm in your dashboard.

Overview: intraday vs end-of-day evaluations and the Performance Account
Apex's current evaluations come in four sizes: 25K, 50K, 100K and 150K, with profit targets of $1,500, $3,000, $6,000 and $9,000 and maximum drawdowns of $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 and $4,000. Contract limits are 4, 6, 8 and 12. Every evaluation gives 30 calendar days of access with no extensions, no minimum trading days (you may pass in one), no consistency rule and no scaling. Apex's help pages do not print subscription prices; take them from the order form.
The difference is how the drawdown moves. On an Intraday Trailing Drawdown evaluation the threshold follows your highest balance including unrealized profit, tick by tick. On an EOD Trailing Drawdown evaluation the threshold is calculated once a day at the close from your end-of-day balance and stays fixed through the next session. EOD evaluations also carry a daily loss limit; intraday ones do not.
Pass and you have 7 calendar days to activate the matching Performance Account (PA). The PA keeps the same drawdown type, adds a Safety Net (drawdown plus $100), and pays 100% of approved payouts, up to weekly, for 6 payouts, after which the PA closes and you qualify again through a new evaluation.
Rules that end the account
One rule fails an evaluation or a PA: touching the trailing threshold. Everything else on this list either pauses you or costs profit.
Rules that block payouts
Apex's PA payout rules are the same for intraday and EOD accounts except for the minimum daily profit and the per-request caps.
- 5 qualifying days since the last payout, not necessarily consecutive, with no deadline. A day qualifies only if its profit reaches the minimum: on 50K that is $200 (intraday) or $250 (EOD); 25K $100; 100K $250 or $300; 150K $300 or $350.
- Balance at or above the Safety Net plus the request. The Safety Net on 50K is $52,100 (drawdown $2,000 plus $100) and must be kept for the life of the PA; the minimum balance to request a payout is $52,600.
- 50% consistency. Best day under 50% of profit since the last approved payout. A $1,200 best day needs more than $2,400 total.
- Minimum $500 per request on every size.
- Per-request caps on 50K. Intraday: $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $2,500, $3,000, $3,000 for payouts 1 through 6. EOD: $1,500, $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $2,500, $3,000. Six payouts total, then the PA closes.
- 100% of the approved amount is paid; there is no split on current PAs.
Easy to miss
- Intraday trailing counts open profit you never banked. A trade that runs $900 in your favor and comes back to break even has moved your floor up $900 for good.
- EOD trailing is fixed for the whole next session. You know your exact line all day; a huge intraday high gives no extra room until the close.
- The EOD daily loss limit pauses, the threshold fails. On 50K the $1,000 pause line is always nearer than the $2,000 floor on a fresh account.
- 30 days means 30 calendar days from purchase. Weekends and holidays count.
- The PA threshold stops at the Safety Net, not at the starting balance. On 50K it keeps trailing until your peak reaches $52,100 and then freezes at $50,100.
- Correlated hedges across accounts are a violation. Short NQ in one account and long ES in another counts.
How to track it
On an intraday account, track the peak equity, not just balance: every tick above the old high moves the threshold. Keep the gap between current equity and the threshold on the screen and size each contract so a full stop stays inside it. On an EOD account, write the threshold once after the close and the daily pause line beside it; both are fixed until tomorrow.
On a PA, keep a payout tracker: profit since the last payout, best day as a share of it, qualifying days hit (only days at or above the $200 or $250 minimum on 50K), balance against $52,600, and which payout number comes next so you know its cap. Six boxes, updated nightly.
Log direction on every open position across every Apex account so you can see a correlated hedge before you place it. The drawdown calculator handles intraday and end-of-day trailing thresholds, and the payout date calculator counts qualifying days.
Proof tracks every Apex rule for you
The Apex preset runs an intraday or end-of-day trailing threshold that stops at the Safety Net, counts qualifying days against the minimum daily profit for your size, checks your best day against 50% since the last payout and shows which payout number and cap is next.

What is the Apex 50K trailing drawdown?
$2,000. On an intraday evaluation the threshold trails your highest balance including unrealized profit and never moves down. On an EOD evaluation it is set once a day at the close and fixed through the next session. Touching it liquidates and fails the account.
What is the difference between Apex intraday and EOD evaluations?
Same targets, drawdowns and contract limits. Intraday trails every tick including open profit and has no daily loss limit; EOD trails only at the close and adds a daily loss limit ($1,000 on 50K) that pauses trading for the session without failing you.
Does Apex have a consistency rule?
Not on evaluations. On a Performance Account no single profitable day may be 50% or more of the profit earned since your last approved payout; it blocks the payout, not the account.
How do Apex Performance Account payouts work?
After 5 qualifying days (each at or above the minimum daily profit, $200 intraday or $250 EOD on 50K), with balance above the Safety Net plus the request, best day under 50%, minimum $500, capped per payout number, paid at 100%. Six payouts and the PA closes.
Can I trade news on Apex?
Yes. Apex does not publish a time window; the PA compliance page only requires a position in one direction during a release and bars opposing positions placed to gamble on it. Positions must still be closed before the daily cutoff.
