A straight-line estimate from your average day. Real results vary; losing streaks push the date out. Rules checked October 2026. Confirm cycles and splits in your dashboard.
What decides your payout date
- The payout cycle: how many days after your first trade the first request opens, and how often after that. Many forex firms use 14 days, Topstep 5, Apex 8.
- Minimum profitable days: FundingPips wants 7 days of at least 0.25%, Goat Funded 6 days of at least 0.5%, Topstep’s standard path 5 days of $150+.
- The cushion: FundingPips keeps the first 3% of profit as a buffer you can’t withdraw.
- Minimum payout amount, often 1% of the account or a fixed floor like $250.
- The consistency rule: your best day can’t be too large a share of the profit in the period.
- Your split, which turns account profit into money in your bank.
How the estimate works
The calculator takes your average profit per trading day and your trading days per week and walks forward from your first trade. It stops at the first date where every rule above is met: the cycle has opened, the minimum profitable days are done, the cushion and minimum amount are covered, and (if you set a goal) the goal is reached. It then shows your projected profit on that date and the take-home after the split.
It can’t see losing streaks or your real distribution of days. Proof’s Target does the full version by replaying your actual trading days thousands of times.
Reading the result
- If the date is far out, the cushion or the minimum days are usually the reason, not the cycle. Smaller, more frequent green days beat occasional big ones under these rules.
- If the take-home looks low, remember the cushion is paid once. The second payout is cleaner.
- Your first request often resets the trailing floor at some firms, and that’s the moment many traders get breached in the following week. Plan size for the week after a payout.
Target does this with your real trades
Proof’s Target replays your actual trading days thousands of times against each firm’s payout rules and names the month each account pays out, with breaches and replacement costs counted. It updates every time you log a trade.

How often do prop firms pay out?
Common cycles are every 14 days after your first trade (FXIFY, FundingPips, FundedNext, Goat Funded, FTMO), every 5 days at Topstep and every 8 days at Apex, as of October 2026. Some firms offer on-demand payouts once conditions are met.
What is a payout cushion or buffer?
A share of profit the firm keeps in the account, like FundingPips’ first 3%. You can’t withdraw it, and it protects the account against the next drawdown.
Why can’t I withdraw when my account is in profit?
Usually a minimum-profitable-days rule, a consistency rule or a cushion. The calculator shows which one is holding the date.
Does the profit split apply to every payout?
Yes. Your take-home is the account profit you request multiplied by your split. Splits of 80% to 95% are common; some firms sell a 100% add-on.
Can a payout breach my account?
Not directly, but at some firms the trailing floor is reset or the balance drops below the lock point after a payout, which leaves less room. Check what happens to your floor after a withdrawal.
