TradesViz alternative for prop firm traders

Of the five journals we compare, TradesViz is the one that took prop firm rules seriously, with firm profiles, four drawdown types and a daily loss tracker. That makes this the most useful comparison on the site, because the differences are specific rather than categorical.

What TradesViz does well

Checked on TradesViz's pricing page, home page, prop firm page and compliance blog post in October 2026:

Prop firm compliance. Firm profiles with the drawdown amount and type, in four kinds: trailing end-of-day, trailing intraday, static, and trailing-to-static lock. A daily loss limit tracker with breach count, a consistency score with the dollar amount needed to bring your best day under the threshold, profit target progress, a payout readiness indicator, and custom profiles since June 2026. The prop firm page cites 37+ firms and 60+ account configurations (the June 2026 blog post listed 20 firms and 65 configurations). Apex, Topstep, FTMO, FundedNext and The5ers are named.

Challenge Mode. Inside the simulator, drawdown, daily loss and profit target are checked on every tick and the session auto-stops on a fail. A good way to rehearse an evaluation before paying for one.

Price. Basic is free (3,000 executions a month, one account, stocks only). Pro is $19.99 a month or $14.99 a month billed yearly ($179 a year). Platinum is $29.99 a month or $22.49 a month billed yearly ($269 a year). Paid plans have a 7-day free trial. This is the lowest paid entry on the list. Prices change.

Breadth. 600+ statistics, custom dashboards, 70+ interactive charts, backtesting across 30,000+ symbols, a simulator with historical data for 15,000+ tickers, an options flow tool, options backtester, Greeks and payoff diagrams on Platinum.

Auto-sync. 250+ supported brokers and platforms with 70+ auto-sync connections, including Tradovate, Rithmic, NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, CQG, MetaTrader 4 and 5 and cTrader.

AI. AI Coach trading review (16 checks on Pro, 21 on Platinum), AI Query in plain English, AI Chat, AI Summary, AI Notes, AI Daily Brief, plus a hosted MCP connection and REST API on paid plans.

Mobile. An iOS and Android app, listed even on the free plan.

Where it falls short for funded traders

These are narrower gaps than with the other journals, which is why they matter.

News windows are on the roadmap, not live. TradesViz's compliance post says news blackout and restricted-hours fields are stored in each profile, but "active enforcement during compliance calculation and simulator sessions is coming." As of the June 2026 update, the firm's news rule is recorded, not applied. We found no economic calendar on the feature pages.

Payout readiness, not payout date. The payout readiness indicator shows whether you have enough buffer above the trailing floor. It does not project the date you become eligible from the firm's schedule, minimum profit days and your current pace. Payouts are logged manually as withdrawals.

No rule cost in dollars. The consistency widget does translate one rule into money (how much more green you need). We found no feature that totals what each broken rule has cost over time.

Routine is a checklist, not a streak. Trade and day planning with custom checklists, and a trading rules and goals tracker, are included. We found no daily routine with streaks, mindset check-ins or a weekly recap of the kind Proof builds the day around.

Free plan is stocks only. Forex, futures and CFD traders need Pro at minimum.

The product is large. 600 statistics and 600 widgets are a strength for a data-driven trader and a cost for everyone else. Finding the three numbers that matter before the session takes work.

How Proof is different

Proof and TradesViz agree on the problem. The differences are in what gets built around it.

News windows per firm, live now. One calendar from several top sources combined plus the firm's own list, filtered to the markets you trade, with block windows per firm applied, not stored. Earnings for stocks and options; energy reports for oil and gas.

Target. Projects when each account can pay out and when you reach your goal, using that firm's schedule and rules. Try the free payout date calculator for one account.

Rule Cost and Proof Scale. What each broken rule has cost in dollars, and on every trade: could-have-lost, actual, left on table, heat and run.

Routine as the spine. Daily checklist with streaks, mindset check-ins, missed setups scored against real candles, weekly recap, PDF report card. Proof's view is that a funded account is kept by the routine, not the dashboard.

Same rule coverage. Daily loss (balance, equity or end-of-day), max loss and trailing drawdown (high-water, equity, end-of-day, locking), open-risk caps, consistency, minimum profit days, payout schedules. Presets for FXIFY, FundingPips, FundedNext, Goat Funded, FTMO, The5ers, Topstep and Apex, plus custom; see the rules hub. Eight presets is fewer than TradesViz's 37+; Proof covers the firms most retail forex, gold and futures traders are funded with and adds custom for the rest.

Risk Guard. Live room left today and to the max-loss floor per account, with a position sizer for every market.

Vera, included. 500 AI credits a month on every plan, answering from your journal, your rules and live market data, with a market read per pair.

Price. $49 a month, $399 a year or $499 lifetime at special pricing; regular pricing later is $59, $499 and $999. TradesViz is cheaper per month. Proof offers a lifetime option TradesViz does not, and a 7-day refund.

Proof does not auto-sync from brokers (CSV import and manual logging), has no simulator or Challenge Mode, and has no options flow or Greeks tools. If those are on your list, TradesViz is ahead.

Who should stay with TradesViz

TradesViz is a strong choice for a funded trader. The case for Proof is narrower and clearer: applied news windows, a projected payout date, rule cost in dollars and a daily routine built in, at a higher price.

  • Your broker is on TradesViz's 70+ auto-sync list, especially Tradovate, Rithmic or NinjaTrader for futures, and you want trades to arrive on their own.
  • You want to rehearse evaluations in Challenge Mode before paying for them.
  • You trade options and use the flow, Greeks and payoff tools on Platinum.
  • Budget is the deciding factor. Pro at $14.99 a month billed yearly is the cheapest paid journal with real prop firm compliance.
  • You like a large statistics library and build your own dashboards.
  • You already have firm profiles set up and your history is there.

Switching from TradesViz to Proof

TradesViz exports CSV per trading account from its import-export page under Export Management: choose the account and download either Executions (every fill, in native currency) or Trades (open and close price with P&L). The guide we checked is for TradesViz 1.0 and notes a newer 2.0 guide exists, so the screen layout may differ. PDF and Excel exports from dashboard tables are limited to the current page.

Import the Executions CSV into Proof, attach each account to its firm preset, and Proof rebuilds daily loss, drawdown floors and consistency from the history. Notes and screenshots stay behind.

To see the difference before moving, run the same CSV through the free Proof Score for your score, your biggest leak and your rule-break cost in dollars.
