Goat Funded Trader Rules Explained (2026)

The Instant HERO account has three hard loss rules and the 1% floating-loss cap is the one that catches people. Here is every rule with the numbers on a $25,000 HERO account, plus the 1-Step evaluation. Checked against Goat Funded Trader's help center in October 2026; confirm in your dashboard.

Overview: Instant HERO and the 1-Step

Instant HERO is an immediately funded account with a 90% split (100% as a checkout add-on), a 14-day reward cycle and no profit target. The help center does not list sizes or prices, so take those from the order form. Instant accounts cannot be merged with any other account.

The 1-Step evaluation asks for 10% in Step 1 with no target once funded. The daily loss is 4%, or 3% for accounts bought from August 1, 2026, and the max loss is a static 6%. Step 1 needs 3 profitable days; the funded stage needs 4 profitable days of at least 0.5% per payout for accounts bought from July 27, 2026 (3 before that). The split is 80% with a 100% add-on, rewards run every 14 days, and the first two payouts are capped at 6% of the initial size or $10,000, whichever is lower. A $3,000 daily profit cap applies once funded; profit above it is deducted without a breach.

Both accounts reset their daily figures at 5:00pm Eastern, which is 4:00pm Central. Every calculation includes closed and floating P&L, swaps and commissions.

Rules that end the account

Goat calls these hard breaches: exceeding any one closes the account immediately. HERO has three; the 1-Step has two.

Daily loss
HERO: 3% of the starting balance for the day. At the 5pm EST reset the limit is set 3% below the higher of balance or equity and stays fixed until the next reset. On $25K that is $750 of room from a flat start. 1-Step: 4%, or 3% from August 1, 2026, set the same way.
Max loss
HERO: 5% trailing. The floor starts 5% below the initial balance ($23,750 on $25K), rises with every new balance or equity high, never falls, and stops rising at the initial balance. It resets after each payout. 1-Step: static 6%, so equity or balance may never drop below 94% of starting capital ($23,500 on $25K).
Open risk
HERO: if open-trade losses reach 1% of the account balance at any moment, the account is permanently closed. On $25K that is $250 of combined floating red, checked tick by tick. The daily and total limits do not need to be anywhere near.
News
Allowed on every model, with a cap. A trade opened or closed within 5 minutes before or after a high-impact (red folder) release can keep at most 1% of the initial balance in profit per trade ($250 on $25K); the excess is removed at review and there is no breach. Our earlier notes put the cap at $150, which matches a $15K account; the help center states it as 1%.
Weekend/overnight
Not stated on the Instant HERO or 1-Step help pages. Weekend holding on these models depends on your account terms; check the dashboard before Friday close.
Consistency
HERO: 15% soft rule. No single day can be more than 15% of total profit in a payout period; it blocks the payout but does not end the account. 1-Step: none.
Other
Hedging across your own Goat accounts, copy trading and arbitrage EAs are prohibited (our notes; Goat Guard rules apply on funded accounts). HERO leverage: forex 1:50, indices and commodities 1:10, crypto 1:2. Funded 1-Step leverage is the same; the evaluation phase gets 1:100 forex and 1:20 indices.

Rules that block payouts

  • 6 profitable days before any HERO reward, not necessarily consecutive, each closing at 0.5% or more of the initial balance net of fees ($125 on $25K).
  • 15% consistency on HERO. Goat's own example: a $1,500 best day needs at least $10,000 of total profit before you can request.
  • 1-Step funded stage: 4 profitable days of 0.5% per payout (accounts from July 27, 2026), with the first two withdrawals capped at 6% of size or $10,000.
  • News profit over 1% per trade is removed at the review that precedes the payout, so a request can come back smaller than the dashboard showed.
  • The HERO floor resets after each payout. The 5% trail starts again from the new balance, which is a gift after a withdrawal but also means the lock at the initial balance is gone.
  • 14-day cycle on both accounts; an optional on-demand first reward on the 1-Step pays after 3 trading days at a 40% split.

Easy to miss

  • 1% floating loss is checked every tick, on every open position combined. Two trades each 0.6% underwater on $25K ($150 each) breach at $300 even though the daily limit has $450 left.
  • A spike through your stop counts. The rule is about what the account showed, not what you intended. Wide stops on volatile pairs are the usual cause.
  • The daily floor is fixed at 5pm EST from the higher of balance or equity. A floating winner at the reset raises today's floor; if the trade then reverses, the room was never yours.
  • The HERO trail follows equity highs too. An unrealized high moves the floor up before you have banked anything.
  • Weekend holding is not spelled out on the help pages. Do not assume it is allowed; check your account terms.
  • Our October 2026 notes list a 2-minute minimum hold on HERO. The help center article does not mention it, so confirm whether trades held under 2 minutes count toward profitable days.

How to track it

Run three gauges at once: today's daily floor (set at 4pm Central from the higher of balance or equity, minus 3%), the trailing max-loss floor (highest balance or equity minus 5% of the initial balance, capped at the start, reset after a payout) and the floating-loss meter (sum of every open position's unrealized loss, hard stop at 1% of balance). The floating meter is the one to watch during a trade.

Before each entry, add the new trade's worst case at the stop to the floating losses already open. If the total passes $250 on $25K, the trade cannot go on. Keep stops close enough that one adverse spike cannot take two positions through the line together.

For news, keep a 5-minute block each side of every red-folder event and tag trades inside it so you know what profit will be capped at 1%. Log profitable days (0.5% net) toward the 6-day count and watch the best day against 15% of the running total. The consistency rule calculator and the drawdown calculator do the math for any size.
