Prop firm rulesThe Trading Pit Futures Rules Explained (2026)
The Trading Pit sells two futures programs: the Prime challenge with an Earning Phase, and an Instant account with no challenge. Both use an end-of-day drawdown and a daily pause rather than a hard daily loss. Here are the numbers on a 50K. Rules were checked against The Trading Pit's published futures and trading rules pages in October 2026; confirm in your dashboard before you trade.

Overview: Prime and Instant
Prime is a one-time, 30-day challenge in 50K ($99), 100K ($189) and 150K ($289). The 50K needs $3,000 in at least 3 trading days, with a $2,000 end-of-day trailing drawdown, a $1,000 daily pause and up to 5 standard or 50 micro contracts. The $129 activation fee is shown as waived. A reset costs $79 and an extension $99 on the 50K. Passing leads to the Earning Phase, which pays 80%.
Instant has no challenge: 50K at $499 or 100K at $699, no activation fee. The 50K has a $2,000 end-of-day drawdown, a daily pause that starts at $1,200 and grows with your profit, 4 standard or 40 micro contracts and a 20% consistency rule. It pays 90%. You can hold two Instant accounts.
The trading rules page also describes a Futures Classic program with a hard daily loss and a news ban, but it is not on the current futures product page, so it is not covered here. The Trading Pit's CFD accounts are separate.
Rules that end the account
Payout rules
- Prime consistency (challenge): your best day is measured against 40% of the profit target, $1,200 on 50K.
- Prime Earning Phase: 5 profitable days of $150 or more, then a request every 7 days for up to 50% of realized profit, capped at $2,500 on 50K, whichever is lower. Your balance must be above its level after the last payout. 80% split.
- Instant: reach the $3,000 profit goal on 50K with at least 5 trading days and no day above 20% of total profit. Requests every 5 days, $500 minimum. Caps on 50K: $2,000 for rewards 1 to 3, $2,500 for 4 and 5, $3,000 from the sixth. 90% split.
- Each Instant payout resets the profit goal for the next cycle.
News and trading hours
News trading is allowed on Prime and Instant. The firm warns about sharp, unpredictable moves around releases.
Prime positions still open at 3:55pm CT are force-closed by The Trading Pit's risk managers. Instant does not allow overnight or weekend holding. Daily limits update at 4:15pm CT on Prime and the daily pause resets at the next trading day.
Worked example on a 50K
On a Prime 50K you start with a $48,000 floor and a $1,000 daily pause. You close day 1 at $51,100, so the floor moves to $49,100. Day 2 closes at $52,000 and the floor reaches $50,000, where it stays. A $1,200 day is the most your best day can be against 40% of the $3,000 target, so a $1,300 day 1 would have been a problem; here day 1 was $1,100. Day 3 closes at $53,000 and you have passed in 3 days.
In the Earning Phase you start with 2 contracts. After 5 days of $150 or more and $2,000 of realized profit, you can request 50%, $1,000, and keep $800.
How Proof tracks it
Proof's Trading Pit Futures presets run an end-of-day floor that stops at the start balance on Prime and treat the daily pause as a pause, not a breach. On Instant, Proof raises the daily pause as your best end-of-day profit grows. Risk Guard sizes against the Earning Phase scaling tier.
Proof counts $150 profitable days, checks your best day against 40% of the target or 20% of profit, shows the next request date and the cap for your payout number, and sets a close alarm before 3:55pm CT. Proof warns and tracks; it does not close trades at your broker.
Proof tracks every Trading Pit Futures rule for you
The Trading Pit Futures presets stop the end-of-day floor at your start balance, treat the daily pause as a pause, raise the Instant pause with your profit, count $150 days, check 40% or 20% consistency and remind you before 3:55pm CT.
