Overview: Test, PRO and PRO+
The Test is a one-step evaluation in five sizes: 25K, 50K, 75K, 100K and 150K. Profit targets are $1,500, $3,000, $4,500, $6,000 and $9,000, and the maximum trailing drawdown is $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $3,000 and $4,500. Contract limits are 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15, or ten times that in micros. There is no daily loss limit and no time limit. You need at least 3 trading days. The Test is a monthly subscription; Take Profit Trader's help pages do not print the monthly price, so take it from the checkout. A Test reset costs $99 on the 50K.
Passing moves you to a PRO account, a simulated funded account with a one-time fee the home page lists as $130 (often waived with a promo code). PRO keeps the same drawdown amount and contract limit as your Test, but the drawdown now trails intraday. PRO pays 80% of profit and allows withdrawals from day one once you are above the buffer.
PRO+ is a live account by invitation only. It pays 90%, uses an end-of-day drawdown and needs no buffer. Take Profit Trader decides who is upgraded; there is no application.
Rules that end the account
The drawdown is the only loss rule. There is no daily loss limit on any stage.
Payout rules
The Test has no payout. On PRO, money is available from the first day, but only above a buffer.
- Buffer zone on 50K: $52,000. You can withdraw profit at 80% once your balance is above it. Other sizes: $26,500 (25K), $77,500 (75K), $103,000 (100K), $154,500 (150K).
- No consistency rule on PRO. The 50% rule applies only to the Test.
- 80/20 split on PRO, 90/10 on PRO+. PRO+ has no buffer requirement.
- After an account is closed you can withdraw 50% of the buffer zone.
- Resets on PRO are allowed up to three times per account: $649 on 50K. A reset gives a fresh account with the same rules.
News and trading hours
The trading day runs 6:00pm to 5:00pm Eastern (5:00pm to 4:00pm Central). Take Profit Trader closes any open position at 4:55pm ET (3:55pm CT), and nothing can be carried into the next trading day. Holiday closes can come earlier, and missing a holiday-adjusted close liquidates the account.
The Test has no news rule. On PRO and PRO+ you must be flat, with no working orders, from one minute before to one minute after FOMC statements (Wednesdays at 2:00pm ET), Non-Farm Payrolls (Fridays at 8:30am ET) and CPI. Fed speakers and FOMC minutes are allowed.
Worked example on a 50K
You start a 50K Test at $50,000. The Minimum Account Balance is $48,000. Day 1 closes at $51,200, so the floor moves to $49,200 overnight. Day 2 runs to $52,000 intraday and closes at $51,600; the floor stays at $49,200 because only the close counts on the Test. Day 3 closes at $53,100, which passes the $3,000 target, and the floor locks at $50,000.
Check consistency before you celebrate. Day 1 made $1,200, Day 2 $400 and Day 3 $1,500, for $3,100 total. The best day, $1,500, is 48% of the total, under 50%, and you have 3 trading days, so the Test passes.
On the PRO account the same $2,000 trails intraday. If a trade runs $800 into profit and comes back, the floor has moved up $800 for good, until it reaches $50,000. You can withdraw 80% of anything above $52,000.
How Proof tracks it
Proof keeps a Test preset with an end-of-day trailing floor that locks at the starting balance, and a PRO preset that trails your peak including open profit. Risk Guard shows live room to the floor before every trade and sizes contracts so a full stop cannot cross it.
Proof logs each day's net P&L, checks your best day against 50% of the total, and shows the higher goal when a big day lands. On PRO it shows how far you are above the buffer and what 80% of that is. The news calendar blocks the one-minute windows around FOMC, NFP and CPI, and a close alarm reminds you before 4:55pm ET. Proof warns and tracks; it does not place or close trades at your broker.
Proof tracks every Take Profit Trader rule for you
The Take Profit Trader presets run an end-of-day floor on the Test and an intraday floor on PRO, both locking at the starting balance, check your best day against 50%, show room above the $52,000 buffer on 50K, and block the FOMC, NFP and CPI windows.
See how Proof does itFrequently asked questions
Does Take Profit Trader have a daily loss limit?
No. The Test, PRO and PRO+ have no daily loss limit. The only loss rule is the trailing drawdown, $2,000 on a 50K.
Is the Take Profit Trader drawdown end-of-day or intraday?
End-of-day on the Test and PRO+, intraday on PRO. On both the Test and PRO it stops trailing at the starting balance, and touching it at any time liquidates the account.
What is the Take Profit Trader consistency rule?
On the Test only, your best day must be below 50% of total net profit. Going over does not fail you; it raises the goal to more than twice your best day. PRO has no consistency rule.
When can I withdraw from a Take Profit Trader PRO account?
From day one, once your balance is above the buffer zone ($52,000 on 50K). You keep 80% of profit above it. PRO+ pays 90% with no buffer.
Can I trade news on Take Profit Trader?
On the Test, yes. On PRO and PRO+ you must be flat with no orders from one minute before to one minute after FOMC statements, NFP and CPI.
What time do I have to close positions at Take Profit Trader?
Positions are closed automatically at 4:55pm ET (3:55pm CT). Nothing is held into the next trading day, which starts at 6:00pm ET.
