Prop firm rulesInstant Funding Rules Explained (2026)
Instant Funding sells more than a dozen programs, and the rule that ends an account is often not the drawdown but the risk-per-idea cap, the lot limit or a best-day rule. Here is how each one works, with a $10,000 worked example. Rules were checked against the firm's published help pages in October 2026; confirm in your dashboard.

Overview: instant accounts and challenges
Instant funded (no target): Instant Funding Pro, Instant Funding Lite (formerly GO), Instant Funding Clarity, IF Micro Pro, IF Micro Lite, IF Micro Clarity, IF Micro Crypto and IF Starter, a 24-hour account. The Pro, Lite and Clarity accounts use Smart Drawdown; the Micro accounts mostly use a 6% static or trailing floor.
Challenges: One-Phase Pro (10% target), One-Phase Micro (7%), One-Phase Lite (9%), One-Phase Crypto (10%), Two-Phase (8% then 5%), Two-Phase Micro (8% then 4% on its help page), Two-Phase ZAR in rand (10% then 5%) and Evolve (6% plus 5 profitable days).
Instant Funding does not print prices on its help or rules pages; the homepage shows only discount codes. Check the checkout page for the current price of your size.
Almost every program measures the daily loss from the higher of balance or equity at the 17:00 EST rollover (4pm CT), and almost every program closes an account after 60 days with no trade.
Rules that end the account
These are the limits that close or reset an account. The exact numbers change by program, so the figures below name the program.
Payout rules
- Pro, Lite and Clarity: first payout 14 days after the first trade, then every 7 days. Smart Drawdown must be locked first. Split 80%, minimum $25.
- IF Micro Pro and IF Micro Crypto: on demand once net profit is at least 5% of the starting balance and the best day is no more than 15% of total profit.
- IF Micro Lite: every 14 days, minimum 5% of starting balance, 15% best-day rule, and Smart Drawdown locked at 3%.
- IF Micro Clarity: 5 profitable days of at least 0.5% each before every payout, 3% minimum profit, 20% best-day rule. On $200K the first two payouts are capped at $4,000 each.
- Challenges once funded: on demand when net profit is the greater of 1.5% or $25. Best-day caps: One-Phase Pro and Two-Phase 40%, One-Phase Micro and Two-Phase Micro 15%, ZAR 35%. One-Phase Lite and One-Phase Crypto pay every 7 days.
- Evolve: minimum $250, each request capped at 50% of profit and $2,000, and no more than 5 payouts per account.
- All trades must be closed before you request any payout.
News and weekend holds
On Pro, Lite and funded One-Phase Pro and Two-Phase accounts, trades opened or closed within 4 minutes before or after major news are restricted unless you bought the Swing or news add-on; profits may be adjusted and the account reset. Challenge phases are exempt. IF Micro Lite bans news trading outright and counts a trade in the window as a strike. The Micro, Starter, One-Phase Lite and ZAR programs allow news but ban straddling. Clarity needs the NTWH add-on for news at all.
Weekends: Pro, Lite, Clarity and funded One-Phase Pro and Two-Phase accounts must be flat before Friday's close without the add-on. IF Micro Lite and Evolve never allow weekend holds, and Evolve closes positions at 4:55pm EST (3:55pm CT) every day. The other Micro and challenge programs allow weekend holds.
Worked example: $10,000 Instant Funding Lite
The Smart Drawdown floor starts at $9,000. The daily loss is 4% of the higher of balance or equity at the 5pm EST rollover: $400 on day one, so the daily floor is $9,600. The risk-per-idea cap is 2%, so no single idea can risk more than $200, and FX is capped at 4 lots in total.
At rollover your balance is $10,300 and equity is $10,500 with a trade still open. Tomorrow's daily limit is $420 (4% of $10,500), measured from $10,500, so the daily floor is $10,080.
Once the closed balance reaches $10,500, the Smart Drawdown floor moves to $9,500 and stays there. That lock is also the condition for your first payout, 14 days after your first trade.
How Proof tracks it
Choose the program and Proof sets the daily base to the higher of balance or equity at the 5pm EST rollover, the Smart, static or trailing floor, and the risk-per-idea cap. Risk Guard warns before a position takes an idea past its limit, and Challenge HQ shows whether Smart Drawdown has locked and how close your best day is to the cap.
The news calendar blocks 4 minutes each side of major events on the programs that restrict them. Use the drawdown calculator to check floors at your size and the payout date calculator to count the 14-day and 7-day cycles.
Proof tracks every Instant Funding rule for you
Each program's preset carries its daily base, Smart, static or trailing floor, risk-per-idea cap, best-day limit and payout cycle, and shows live room left before each trade.

How does Instant Funding Smart Drawdown work?
The floor starts 10% below your starting balance. When your balance is up 5%, the floor moves to 5% below the starting balance and stays there. On $10,000 the floor goes from $9,000 to $9,500. IF Micro Lite uses 6% moving to 3%.
What is the Instant Funding daily loss limit?
It depends on the program: from 2% on IF Starter to 5% on Two-Phase. It is measured from the higher of balance or equity at the 5pm EST rollover. Clarity and Evolve have no daily loss limit.
What is the risk per trade idea rule at Instant Funding?
All open positions on one instrument in one direction count as one idea, and closing and reopening within 10 minutes does not reset it. The cap is 1% to 3% of starting balance, or half the daily drawdown on One-Phase and Two-Phase. Going over is a hard breach.
Can I trade news with Instant Funding?
On Pro, Lite and funded One-Phase Pro and Two-Phase accounts, not within 4 minutes of major news unless you have the add-on. The Micro challenges and IF Starter allow news but ban straddling. IF Micro Lite does not allow news trading.
When can I withdraw from Instant Funding?
Pro, Lite and Clarity pay 14 days after your first trade, then every 7 days, once Smart Drawdown is locked. Most challenge accounts pay on demand once net profit is at least 1.5% and the best-day rule is met.
